YEREVAN. – The kids of Aygepar village of Tavush Region ask Santa Clause not for toys or sweets but peace.

On New Year’s Even children of the local kindergarten had a party during which they asked Santa to bring them peace. Director Lilit Melikyan says 21 children attend the kindergarten that was built in 1963.

With the help of international and Armenian organizations, the kindergarten has been recently renovated.

The village is located near the border and children often hear the shots.

“They are not afraid. We are taking them away to the bedrooms,” says the director.
