YEREVAN. – Returned Armenian captive 77-year-old Mamikon Khojoyan was discharged from hospital on Monday.

His health state is normal, but relatives said the old man has fears, and his memory has not recovered fully. Khojoyan can remember only five sons out of seven.

The old man can walk with the help of his son, he is still afraid of strangers. His son is always next to him and is preparing him to coming back to his home village. Hearing about the village, fears of captivity appear in 77-year-old man's eyes.

Mamikon Khojoyan, 77, a resident of Verin Karmiraghbyur village of Armenia’s Tavush Region, was taken captive by Azerbaijan on January 28. He suffers from mental illness.

Azerbaijan returned the elderly to Armenia on March 4. Preliminary medical examination, however, revealed that Khojoyan has multiple fractures and injuries as well as numerous wounds and cracks. All the injuries indicate that he was tortured while in captivity. Mamikon Khojoyan underwent an arm surgery.
