YEREVAN. – The Armenian Government members, who on Friday visited the capital city Yerevan’s Victory Park on the 69th anniversary of the victory in the Second World War, took part in the traditional tent dinner together with a group of war veterans.
A field canteen was opened at the park for the tent dinner, during which newly appointed PM Hovik Abrahamyan and the ministers sat at the tables together with the war veterans and drank toasts in memory of those who had fallen during the Great Patriotic War.
The dinner menu was military—buckwheat and rice—and so were the utensils.
Even though the veterans complained to Armenian News-NEWS.am about the inattention towards them and their dire social conditions, they only voiced congratulations and drank a toast to peace around the dinner tables. And when they became somewhat inebriated, they sang the songs that had helped them to keep their fighting spirits high at the battlefield.
