YEREVAN.  – Armenian MP, member of ANC faction Nikol Pashinyan was present at the trial of  activist Shant Harutyunyan.

Asked wher he noticed any violations, Pashinyan told the Armenian News-NEWS.am correspondent that he is well aware of the style of work of Mnatsakan Martirosyan and considers Shant Harutyunyan a political prisoner.

On November 5, 2013 Harutyunyan and several dozen supporters wearing Guy Fawkes “Anonymous masks”—had started a march toward the Presidential Palace, but the police had stopped the march.

As a result, there was a scuffle and explosions, and the police detained 38 activists. Subsequently, criminal charges were laid against fourteen of them, including Harutyunyan and his 15-year-old son Shahen. As a result of the melee, sixteen people, including eight police officers, were injured.
