YEREVAN. – Wednesday’s rally and march, which were devoted to the Human Rights Day, started and ended at Liberty Square in the Armenian capital city of Yerevan.

The participants in the peace march, which was an initiative of the opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC) Party, chanted slogans and marched through several Downtown Yerevan streets under police escort, and returned to Liberty Square, the Armenian News-NEWS.am reporter informed from the scene.

A number of ANC and non-pro-government Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) MPs as well as opposition Heritage Party Chairman and former FM Raffi Hovannisian also took part in the event.

At Liberty Square, PAP deputy Vahan Babayan stated that this rally and march was the evidence of their unity.

“We showed the people doubting the success of our movement that our movement is unbreakable.

“The time for change has come. It will not be possible to disunite us. It will not be possible to disappoint [us]. We will celebrate our triumph in a very short time,” Babayan stated.
