YEREVAN. - Protestors struggling against electricity price hike in Baghramyan Avenue opened Yerevan’s Mashtost Avenue - Sayat-Nova crossing after the negotiations.

As reported by Armenian News – NEWS.am correspondent, the protestors had blocked France Square in Yerevan Centre. Yerevan Deputy Chief of Police Valery Osipyan had also come there, accompanied by task force police officers. He announced that the protestors were violating the law, hindering the free movement of other citizens, in response to which the protestors scanned “The Square is ours.”

MPs Nikol Pashinyan and Tevan Poghosyan had also arrived at France Square, urging the protestors to move to Baghramyan Avenue, without yielding to provocations.

Following the negotiations, the protestors decided to open the territory of the square and move to Baghramyan Avenue.

Earlier, protestors had blocked the crossing on Friday evening, but opened it an hour later.

Following the use of force by the police Tuesday morning, people have gathered again and are continuing their sit-in in Baghramyan Avenue, their number rapidly increasing
