YEREVAN. - Police will not carry out actions against its own people if they act in the frames of law, Chief of Police Vladimir Gasparyan announced in Baghramyan Avenue. Gasparyan was shouting rather furiously, surrounded by a group of police officers.
Addressing MP Hovhannes Margaryan, he yelled: “This city belongs to all of us. We are the defenders of these people. Stop, bring them to senses, you are the chosen ones of the nation. You’re blocking an Avenue. This is a small country, a small country.”
The Chief of Police didn’t possibly like the human shield formed by MPs and celebrities for preventing clashes.
Deputy Chief of Police said there were armed people among the protestors, who have been detained.
At the moment Chief of Police has called several MPs in Baghramyan Avenue for negotiations.
