A Turkish military officer was not given permission from his unit to go and attend his own marriage ceremony.

Even though Ahmet Karavelioğlu, 25, was unable to attend his own wedding, his and the bride’s parents decided to go ahead with the ceremony, since they had made respective preparations for a long time, and informed the relatives about the day of the marriage, reported Sözcü daily of the country.

Although the bride danced at the wedding without the groom, she was sad, and she sometimes even cried that the groom was not at her side on their marriage ceremony.

Karavelioğlu’s parents stressed that their military son, who serves in Hakkari Province of Turkey, could not come to the wedding because the Kurdish militants could have harmed him en route.
