YEREVAN. - The bodies of 5 Armenian crewmembers killed in South Sudan plane crash on November 4, were transferred to Armenia late this evening.

Dozens of people – relatives and friends of the pilots - expected the plane transporting the bodies in Yerevan’s “Zvartnots” Airport, Armenian News – NEWS.am correspondent reports.

The plane landed in “Zvartnots” Airport at 10:35 p.m.

The bodies were transported to Armenia via Juba-Khartoum – Yerevan charter flight.

40 people, including the aircraft’s crewmembers and passengers as well as people on the ground, were killed in South Sudan plane crash on November 4.

The cargo plane’s crewmembers included Armenians. They were First Pilot and aircraft commander Gevorg Tovmasyan, Second Pilot Samvel Hambardzumyan, Engineer Samvel Mkrtchyan, and Technicians Armen Antonyan, and Suren Petrosyan.

The crew also included a Russian citizen, whose body will be taken from Yerevan to Moscow via the same flight.
