A passenger van, which was en route from the Georgian capital city of Tbilisi to the Armenian capital city of Yerevan, on Friday fells into a canyon alongside the Alaverdi-Vanadzor motorway in Armenia.
The Armenian News-NEWS.am reporter in the Lori Province informed that, at around noon, the vehicle, which was driven by Tbilisi resident Razmik Gevorgyan (born in 1961), fell into the canyon which is about 5 meters deep.
As a result, three passengers sustained injuries, and they were taken to the Vanadzor city medical center. But their injuries are not life-threatening.
According to preliminary information, two of these passengers are Georgian citizens while the other is a Romanian national.
Prior to the rescue workers’ arrival at the crash site, however, the victims of this accident were taken out of the valley by the drivers and police officers that were traveling along the motorway.
