YEREVAN. – The Prosecutor General’s Office of Armenia will take steps so that those who attacked the journalists and the likely organizers of these attacks are punished. 

Deputy Prosecutor General Artur Davtyan, who has been nominated as the next Prosecutor General of the country, on Tuesday stated the aforementioned in Parliament.

Davtyan noted this in connection with the clashes that occurred in Sari Tagh district of capital city Yerevan, in the late evening hours on July 29 and early morning hours on July 30.   

He added that the respective criminal case is opened, the attorney general’s office has taken part, and the cases into attacks on journalists have been joined.

“I can assure you objective legal assessments will be given,” said Artur Davtyan. “We will bring charges against both the perpetrators and likely organizers of the attacks.”
