YEREVAN. – Snap parliamentary elections will be held in December, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan told reporters on Tuesday.

“After the recent developments snap parliamentary elections will be held in Armenia this December,” PM said.

“There was a very important event, a negative one. RPA, and not only, again showed that they have wrong assessment of the political situation in Armenia. So, the question now is ‘if there is counter-revolution or not’, and we can officially state that there is a counter-revolution in Armenia, and counter-revolutionaries are those forces which are protecting this draft bill. I am being assured that the draft bill was submitted by the three political forces. Any MP, who would support this draft bill, is a representative of the counter-revolution and he wants the return of a corrupted system. We naturally will not allow this,” he assured.

“We have to state that after the recent events in December, early elections will be held in Armenia. If it turns out that I am not a representative of the people in the status of prime minister, there will be no elections. If it turns out that I am the representative of the people in the status of the Prime Minister, the elections will be held.”
