YEREVAN. – There was no blood accusation upon me even by the verdict reached during the preceding authorities.

Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, who also heads My Step Alliance’s electoral list in the snap parliamentary election in Armenia, told the above-said to reporters, after casting his respective vote Sunday. He stated this commenting on the remark that second President Robert Kocharyan has accused him as the “masterminder” of the tragic events that unrolled in March 2008, in capital city Yerevan.

“The European Court of Human Rights has begun publicizing the decisions on the March 1 case,” Pashinyan said. “And I believe that those decisions already speak about themselves, and indicate that the preceding [Armenian] authorities’ premise on the events of March 1, 2008 is concocted, from beginning to end. I’m convinced that the true picture is actually exposed; the details and accountabilities will be exposed.

“Ten Republic of Armenia citizens have been killed [during those events], the evidence was falsified, [and] the army was unlawfully gotten involved in internal political processes.”

Second President Robert Kocharyan—along with several other former officials—has been charged within the framework of the criminal case into the tragic events that transpired in capital city Yerevan on March 1 and 2, 2008—and under Article 300.1 Paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code; that is, breaching Armenia’s constitutional order, in conspiracy with others.

On March 1 and 2, 2008, the then authorities of Armenia used force against the opposition members who were rallying in downtown Yerevan, and against the results of the then recent presidential election. Eight demonstrators as well as two servicemen of the internal troops were killed in the clashes. But no one had been brought to account for these deaths, to this day.
