YEREVAN. – A mass exodus has begun from the trade unions in Armenia because people no longer trust them.
Gevorg Petrosyan, a member of the Prosperous Armenia Party faction at the National Assembly, on Monday told about the aforesaid to reporters in parliament. He noted this commenting on the bill they have introduced, and with respect to making additions to the law on trade unions.
To the remark that the government has given negative conclusions to this proposed law, Petrosyan responded that this does not obstruct the respective NA standing committee from giving a positive conclusion to this bill and putting it on the agenda of the plenary session of the legislature.
“The political majority [in Armenia] needs to realize that the people see this decision,” the MP added. “And the people will assess as to what extent the political majority’s decision stems from the prospect for the protection of the lawful interests of their rights.”
