The delegation led by Armenian National Assembly Speaker Ararat Mirzoyan met with Russian Federation Council Chairperson Valentina Matviyenko within his working visit to Moscow, Armenian Parliament’s press service reported.
According to Matviyenko, they closely follow the internal political situation in Armenia.
“Russia always adheres to independent approaches. We believe that such revolutionary changes that occurred in Armenia are, first of all, the choice of the Armenian people, and we have repeatedly noted that it is in favor of all processes taking place in the legal field. We are also pleased that the parliamentary elections were held in a constructive atmosphere,” she added.
She highlighted the importance of close contacts between the states leaders, which is the basis of the parliamentary format for promoting and deepening bilateral cooperation between the states.
Ararat Mizroyan reflects the high level of friendly relations.
“Allied relations that exist between our states and our peoples need to be strengthened and expanded. I also want to thank my Russian colleagues for their active participation in the observation mission for the elections,” he said.
