YEREVAN. – Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met with President Armen Sarkissin to discuss foreign policy agenda.

Welcoming PM in his residence, President Sarkissian said he had heard of Pashinyan’s successful visit to Iran and said he would be happy to learn the details.

“Yes, I do believe that the visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran was very important and very successful. I plan to pay an official visit to Brussels to discuss our next moves with the EU partners,” Pashinyan said.

Pashinyan pointed to rich foreign policy agenda this year, recalling Armenia’s presidency of the Eurasian Economic Union. One of the meetings of the intergovernmental council and the session of the supreme economic ouncil will take place in Yerevan, he added. Pashinyan emphasized that the foreign policy agenda has to be adapted to the goals of the economic revolution.

President Sarkissian, in turn, briefed the Prime Minister on his recent visit to France where he attended the 90th plenary session of the Armenian General Benevolent Union. He also held meetings with large French companies, such as Thales and Dassault. The President also shared the details of his meetings on the margins of the Munich Security Council as well as the visit to University of Heidelberg , Munich Technical University, Max Planck institute. The aim of these visits, according to him, is to turn Armenia into a country of modern technologies and to ensure country’s rapid growth.
