YEREVAN. – The Istanbul Convention is not on the agenda of the Parliament - not yesterday, not today. Lilit Makunts, head of the majority My Step faction in the National Assembly (NA) of Armenia, said this in a conversation with journalists in the NA today.
"I am not going to refer in any way to a document that has not yet appeared in the National Assembly," she added, answering the question whether it possible that public pressure did its job and the document did not come to the NA.
A number of protests took place and signature campaigns were held in Armenia against the chances of the country’s ratification of the Istanbul Convention. And recently My Step MP Taguhi Ghazaryan did not rule out that the Istanbul Convention may not appear on the parliament agenda at all.
