YEREVAN. - Every fleeing is fleeing in accordance with his abilities. Artur Davtyan, the Prosecutor General of Armenia, noted about this in a conversation with reporters on November 29

To the question whether he sees any problem that ex-officials Mikael Harutyunyan, Mihran Poghosyan, and Vahagn Harutyunyan – who are wanted by Armenia - are in Russia and Russia does not extradite them, Davtyan responded: “Those listed had individual reasons, which are fully and clearly enshrined in the conventions. And why Russia? Those who departed [there] should be asked [that]. It's probably [because it’s] easy to go to Russia; Russia is our strategic partner, with whom we have freer contacts and access. If there is a stricter visa regime, they, naturally, will not go to that country. But it turns out that it’s not only Russia; you will soon find out that they have gone to other countries, too. Every fleeing is fleeing in accordance with his abilities.”

Asked whether the prosecutor had failed that everyone is managing to flee Armenia and avoid investigation, Davtyan said: "There is a need to protect one's rights because if there is a question today, whether you have failed that they are gone, and tomorrow, if you ban someone’s departure without a good reason, the question will arise: Is it not a failure that you have banned illegal departure?"
