The bill presented by deputy of the My Step faction of the National Assembly Hayk Sargsyan has to undergo many processes and then be submitted for consideration. This is what deputy of the My Step faction of the National Assembly Andranik Kocharyan told journalists today.

“I must say that there is another idea that is placed into circulation, and I am one of the co-authors. We offer rather strict legal regulations for citizens who have attained the age of 27 and haven’t passed military service. We have offered mechanisms that, based on our notions, will solve many systemic issues such as serious changes on the frontline that can lead to qualitative changes,” he stated.

When asked if he doesn’t fear that everyone will start paying AMD 10,000,000 and avoid military service, Kocharyan said Hayk Sargsyan’s bill isn’t under consideration yet. “There are interesting elements, but this doesn’t mean that it is fully ready to be considered,” he said.

Hayk Sargsyan offers to provide conscript citizens of Armenia under 27 with the opportunity to pay AMD 10,000,000 to the State Budget of Armenia and serve in the army for a month through a special accelerated procedure.
