YEREVAN. – It's a really responsible moment. As you have seen, it all stems from our agreements, it all stems from our policy that we need to create an environment that, if we are working practically toward the peace process, it is impossible to expect positive progress if we do not have the right environment. Armenia’s Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan told this to reporters today referring to the recent mutual visit of Armenian and Azeri journalists. He noted, however, that the environment is such that it is impossible to expect any breakthrough, or immediate results, with this one event.

"It was very important that this program was being implemented at the level of journalists," he said. "That is, at the level that journalists are people who form opinion, information. (…) I assess this fact positively (…). We created a new content that is very important. And I see the positive I want to use very carefully so that we can continue constructively, move on to that important goal, the shaping of the environment, reviewing the level of that enmity; and this requires consistency."

Referring to the question whether such a visit can be made at the level of MPs as well, the Minister said that the MPs are politicians who work on other different platforms, and he is in no hurry to say what the next level will be.

"The level of journalism and expertise is, in my opinion, a pretty good, positive level because it’s about people who are the creators of information, what they see, and have influence in that regard," he added. "And we carefully discuss, analyze how to use the best of it.
