YEREVAN. – Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan held a consultation on the draft law on non-cash transactions.

"We will be consistent in terms of reducing cash flow because, as in several previous cases, this issue is important to us, not only in terms of economic, anticorruption policy, but also in civilizational terms," he noted, in particular, at the beginning of the consultation. "The civilizational direction is of strategic importance to us."

Afterwards, an exchange of ideas was held on the abovementioned bill. It was noted that the number of non-cash transactions, including through foreign bank cards, has increased in Armenia several times over the past two years, and that this is also due to the positive developments in the tourism sector. It was also noted that this draft law was developed in the light of international experience.

The Prime Minister attached importance to the promotion of non-cash operations in terms of both the civilizational component and the reduction of shadow economy. He instructed the heads of the departments concerned to continue working on the bill, but taking into account the recommendations and observations offered.
