During a protest in front of the government building today, citizen of Armenia Lusine Grigoryan, who wishes to leave for Russia, says people don’t live in Armenia, they survive. Grigoryan has been living in Armenia for a long time and can’t reunite with her family in Russia.
She demands that the government at least let her and other citizens travel to Russia by land and added that there have been cases when citizens of Armenia have traveled to Russia by land.
Grigoryan said if the government can’t find a solution, it should provide her with a home and job so that she can live in Armenia since she is barely making ends meet. She added that she will stay in front of the government building and will even hold a sit-in or hunger strike until the government provides a solution.
For the past six months, citizens of Russia, as well as persons who hold Armenian citizenship have been expressing their desire to leave Armenia and have been holding protests against the closed borders. They have also been demanding that the Government of Armenia take action to help them reunite with their families and work abroad.
