PreferredYEREVAN. – The relatives of the missing servicemen have closed off the intersection of the avenue near the main building of the government of Armenia.
Earlier, a group of them had a meeting with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, but they were not satisfied with the results of the meeting.
A little while ago, Pashinyan's assistant Nairi Sargsyan approached them, stated that he was also present at that meeting, and that there was no conversation that, "thank us [the Armenian authorities] that we have brought back five captives."
"Such rumors are false and are just for disrupting internal stability, which is why the parents became angry and decided to close off the street. I responsibly say that there was no such conversation. Please [re]open the street," Sargsyan said, addressing the protesting relatives of the missing soldiers.
In turn, the relatives of the missing demanded that the same thing be said by Arsen Torosyan, the chief of the PM’s staff—and former minister of health, on his own behalf, and not convey it through Nairi Sargsyan.
The citizens who blocked the street and the PM’s aide did not reach a common ground, and Sargsyan returned to the aforesaid government building.
To note, the missing soldiers’ relatives who had left the meeting with PM Nikol Pashinyan had stated that Arsen Torosyan had told them that, "We should be thankful [to the Armenian authorities] that they brought back at least five [Armenian] captives [from Azerbaijan]."
