The processes of the last two weeks, the escalation created by Azerbaijan, and the humanitarian issues show that there is no appropriate environment, there are no actions to talk about peace, and they are not sincere on the part of Baku. The Human Rights Defender (Ombudsperson) of Armenia, Kristine Grigoryan, stated about this in a press briefing Thursday.

Grigoryan explained that her respective concern is related to the fact that the statements need to be confirmed by actions. According to her, Azerbaijan's policy of pressure and intimidation to de-Armenianize, however, is consistent.

She emphasized that after her recent visit to Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh), intensive Azerbaijani shelling and natural gas outages were registered, and an unbearable humanitarian situation was created there.

Grigoryan added that she is familiar also with the reports on the situation in Nerkin Hand village of Armenia’s Syunik Province, where the Human Rights Defender's rapid response team has gone in order to get acquainted with the living and security conditions of the local population.
