The construction company has destroyed the entire area of Yerevan's Fizgorodok (Physics Institute) neighborhood, and is building a "Chinese wall" instead. Jildan Javadyan, a resident of Fizgorodok, told reporters about this Thursday.

According to her, construction work was not carried out in the area for three months, but it resumed today.

" We can’t open door, window on summer day, we are lost in dust. Today I saw that the police had gathered. They apprehended two boys from our courtyard. (...). They are going to build a 12-story building. Then what? (...). They ‘ate’ the trees, ‘drank’ the waters like monsters, they open the mines, poisoned the residents," complained the Fizgorodok neighborhood resident.

The aforesaid construction company today resumed construction work at the Fizgorodok neighborhood of Yerevan. The local residents are against the resumption and have showed resistance, after which the police apprehended two men: lawyer Hayk Harutyunyan and physicist Mikayel Aganyants.

The Public Relations and Information Department of the Police informed Armenian News-NEWS.am that these two men were apprehended under the Code of Administrative Offenses’ article on not carrying out the lawful requirement of a serviceman of the Police Troops or of a police officer.
