President of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan received today Vice President of the World Bank for Europe and Central Asia Anna Bjerde and the delegation headed by her, presidential press service reported.

President Khachaturyan said that the World Bank traditionally plays an important role in Armenia's stable economic development, supporting the public and private sectors. Noting that this year marks the 30th anniversary of cooperation between the Republic of Armenia and the World Bank President Vahagn Khachaturyan said that he was part of the beginning of this cooperation. "I witnessed how important the cooperation with the World Bank was at the beginning of the 1990s. It was important because we understood what our priorities and important steps were. We implemented very constructive programs and realized very effective cooperation," the president said.

The meeting emphasized the importance of the World Bank's support in various spheres, including high technologies, agriculture and digitization. The interlocutors agreed that it is necessary to use all opportunities and join efforts for further expansion and deepening of cooperation.
