Armenia's trade with the other Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) member countries reached $2.8 billion in January-August of this year, increasing by 74 percent compared to the same period last year. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced this at Friday’s extended meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council, in Yerevan.

He added that exports from Armenia have doubled, and the imports have increased by 58 percent.

In his assessment, despite the political tension and the complicated socioeconomic situation of the world, the EEU consistently implements its integration agenda and deepens cooperation in the face of global challenges.

"We can certainly document the presence of positive results and trends in mutual trade in the process of establishment of the EEU. We have achieved major success, a single market has been created, the indicators of mutual trade have noticeably increased. Along with all the opportunities provided by the EEU single market, we also maintain the features and requirements of national legislations and, if necessary, in response to new challenges, we apply protective measures for our own domestic markets," Pashinyan noted.
