In Armenia, the capital expenditure planned by the 2023 state budget draft will increase significantly. Minister of Finance Tigran Khachatryan said this in the National Assembly, at Monday’s joint session of parliamentary standing committees, during the debates on the draft 2023 state budget.

According to the minister, the aforesaid capital expenditure will be about 548 billion drams, which will exceed the capital expenditure of the previous year by 49 percent.

Thus, the capital expenditure of Armenia will reach 5.9 percent of the country’s GDP, which is 1.5 percent more than in 2022.

"Such level is planned to be maintained in the coming years as well, which is already a high indicator. Three quarters of all capital expenditure will be directed to the funding of defense infrastructure as well as security," said Khachatryan.
