I sent an official letter to the Human Rights Defender of Azerbaijan, with the main emphasis that the human rights protection units are not political institutions. I pointed out that it is extremely important that these institutions of the two countries have proper communication and try to solve the emerging humanitarian and human rights issues. Anahit Manasyan, the Human Rights Defender of Armenia, told this to reporters Thursday.

According to the Armenian ombudswoman, however, they have not yet received a response from the Azerbaijani side.

"But I myself am also trying to continue looking for possible ways to find solutions to this issue," she added.

Also, the Human Rights Defender of Armenia noted that the humanitarian crisis in Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) is worrying.

"Regarding Artsakh, I have published a special report, as well as had publications at various times. It is clear that the situation is very worrying, first of all, from the point of view of humanitarian, human rights, in the context of the entire policy of coordinated Armenian hatred that Azerbaijan is implementing," she said.

"This is not an issue to be solved only on the legal platform; legal, political, and other platforms should be properly coordinated. But it is clear that very serious steps must be taken, including there must be the proper reaction of the international community," Manasyan added.
