I believe and hope that the United States has a good understanding of the scale and pace of the growing humanitarian crisis in Nagorno-Karabakh, as well as the awareness that a possible resolution would help resolve this situation: put an end to the humanitarian crisis and return the parties to the negotiation agenda. Armenian foreign minister Ararat Mirzoyan said this in a joint press briefing with the visiting Belgian FM on Tuesday.

"The world sees the policy of [Armenian] ethnic cleansing being carried out by Azerbaijan against the people of Nagorno-Karabakh, and I do not think that the United States would like to be a part of it or contribute to the policy of ethnic cleansing. It is hard for me to imagine that something like this could happen," he said.

Mirzoyan added that Armenia has always welcomed and proposed to create opportunities for the entry of a neutral commission, a mission to Nagorno-Karabakh to present a neutral opinion to the international community, as well as to make efforts to achieve a just and lasting peace.

Earlier, the media reported that the US prevented the adoption of a resolution at the UN Security Council during the last emergency meeting called by Armenia regarding the Lachin corridor issue.
