Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan signed a document according to which the then [Artsakh] Nagorno-Karabakh Autonomous Region is part of Azerbaijan, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said today at a press conference, commenting on the fact that Armenia accuses Russia of “giving” Nagorno-Karabakh to Azerbaijan.

As Lavrov noted, before blaming Russia for something, you need to evaluate your own actions.

According to him, the Speaker of the Armenian Parliament, Alen Simonyan, referred to the fact that the heads of the Russian Federation, Armenia, and Azerbaijan—Vladimir Putin, Nikol Pashinyan, and Ilham Aliyev—signed the first trilateral agreement on November 10, 2020.

“But when later in Prague, where the President of Azerbaijan and the Prime Minister of Armenia were invited, they both signed a statement saying that they recognize the Alma-Ata Declaration of 1991— that's it, the issue is closed. The Armenian Prime Minister signed a document according to which the then Nagorno-Karabakh Autonomous Region is part of Azerbaijan. And there is no need to accuse us of allegedly “giving away” Karabakh on November 10, 2020. One must be accountable to their own people independently,” FM Lavrov emphasized.
