There was no proposal from Turkey to mediate between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Speaker of the National Assembly (NA) of Armenia, Alen Simonyan, stated this speaking with reporters at the NA Tuesday.

"The engagement of Turkey in this process is obvious, and the desire is also obvious, and it is natural that it should be. The only proposal was the 3+3 [regional consultative format], which we will discuss and say our response,” Simonyan added.

“According to my impression, they [i.e. Turkey] are also waiting for the peace treaty between Azerbaijan and Armenia, and they are trying to support their partner, Azerbaijan, in every possible way. Nut at the same time, what has to be said in the field of arguments is over. In my impression, they [i.e. Turkey] also have a question as to why the peace treaty between Azerbaijan and Armenia is not signed. I think that's good news," noted the Armenian parliament speaker.
