We have given our assessment, we have expressed our comments in writing—both to the host embassy country and to other partners. Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan informed this to reporters after the Armenian government’s cabinet meeting Thursday—and referring to the question as to what steps the Armenian foreign ministry has taken regarding the Azerbaijani ambassador’s threats made to Tigran Balayan, the Armenian Ambassador to Belgium.

"Balayan's participation in the event dedicated to the National Day of Turkey was agreed with us. We believe that diplomatic contacts at various levels, including the level of ambassadors, is a normal practice. It was an invitation that was accepted," said Kostanyan.

The Armenian deputy FM noted that diplomatic representatives from Turkey also attend the events held by the Armenian embassy in Belgium.

"This is normal, considering that a process of normalizing of relations between the two countries is going on, and at the moment it is quite dynamic," added Kostanyan.
