The Ministry of Defense (MoD) of Armenia expects that as a result of the programs being implemented, the ranks of the country’s armed forces will be filled with more officers, as well as professional and highly qualified personnel, in the next two years. Minister of Defense Suren Papikyan stated this during Wednesday’s debates on the 2025 state budget draft at the session of the National Assembly of Armenia.

According to him, the policy of filling the armed forces with educated and knowledgeable personnel remains a key and priority task for the Armenian authorities.

"During the last two years, we have been able to implement a number of programs. Thanks to this, the ranks of our armed forces will begin to swell in the coming years," said Papikyan.

He reminded that Armenia has already adopted a law on allocating renovated two-bedroom apartments—in capital Yerevan—to retired military officers.

Also, a new cadet remuneration system has been established in Armenia’s military education institutions—depending on the cadet's performance and the course. As a result their allowance has increased three to ten times; it is about the 15,000 to 175,000 drams here.
