It seems to me that, first of all, it should be based on the fact that the leadership of our country has sent New Year's greetings to the leaders of Transcaucasian countries, including Armenia. Maria Zakharova, the spokesperson of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), stated this at Wednesday’s press briefing—and in response the reporters' question about New Year's wishes to Armenia and the Armenian people.

"There are also wishes there. And taking into account that it also refers to such contacts between the heads of states and governments in the context of the upcoming holidays, everything is arranged from state to state. Well, like every fraternal people—and the Armenian people are certainly a fraternal people—, I wish all the residents of the South Caucasus well-being, peace, prosperity, and overcoming of the existing challenges," Zakharova noted.

The Russian MFA spox added that she sincerely wants to wish everyone peace.

"This is sincere, from the bottom of my heart; and, believe [me], it was achieved through suffering. And if we speak in practical terms, translating into diplomatic language, then, of course, Russia, as before, is ready to provide all support for the sake of the normalization of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations, promotion of economic and transport connections, establishment of relations and trust through a number of mutually beneficial measures in the region, which have already been outlined and should be implemented," Zakharova emphasized.
