The minister of justice of Armenia has announced the need to develop a new constitution of the country.

"As I have already stated several times, our task is to have a text of the new constitution before the [next parliamentary] elections; our work should be conducted in this direction," Srbuhi Galyan told a press conference Tuesday.

According to experts, one of the reasons for developing a new constitution of Armenia is Azerbaijan’s demands from Armenia to remove the reference to the Declaration of Independence of Armenia and the reference to Nagorno Karabakh, as well as the international recognition of the Armenian Genocide, from the text of the current constitution of Armenia.
