The Armenian authorities have clearly stated to us that the document recently signed between the US and Armenia is not directed against Iranian-Armenian relations, and emphasized that they will not take any steps to harm Iranian-Armenian relations or Iran's interests. This was stated by Iranian ambassador to Armenia Mehdi Sobhani, during a press conference Thursday.

According to him, there is a mutual understanding between the Armenian and Iranian authorities on this matter, and both parties are deeply aware that their bilateral relations are developing for the benefit of the peoples of both countries.

The Iranian envoy to Armenia added that this mutual understanding enables to manage the development processes and strengthen relations.

Sobhani stressed that US pressure on Iran has had the opposite effect, and that in case of maximum pressure from the US, Iran will apply a policy of maximum resistance.

According to the Iranian ambassador to Armenia, Iran and Armenia have always managed to improve their relations despite the maximum pressure from the US on Iran.
