European countries are not ready to send troops to Ukraine, Stefan Meister from German Council on Foreign Relation told Armenia News - NEWS.am.

"Europeans neither have troops and military equipment, nor a strategic approach ready for this, but they have to become ready. The willingness of the UK Prime Minister to send troops to Ukraine and the meeting held in Paris show there are some steps by the key countries to rethink the approach and get ready to send on one point forces to Ukraine. The Trump administration is a disruptive one, they will not care about who will secure the peace in Ukraine. So we have to secure it because it's about our own security," Meister said.

According to him, The US government has no concrete plan on how a peace agreement can really look like in Ukraine.  

“Trump will probably have a summit with Putin to hand over to Russia the territories of Ukraine they have occupied and to confirm that Ukraine won’t join NATO. The Europeans will have to secure this agreement as we will have a partly withdrawal of the US from Europe։ I think this won’t work as Putin has no interest in some Ukrainian territories but wants to control whole Ukraine and challenge Western dominance and European security. So I don't see how this can be a sustainable ceasefire. It’s the right time for Europeans to think about how they can secure ceasefire agreement and to supply something which puts them also on the negotiation table. This is maybe the last wake up call for European leaders to become sovereign to invest in their own security to be able to deal with Russia and Ukraine. It's maybe quite late, but I don't know what else should happen to do that,” Meister stated.
