Armenia’s Margara checkpoint on the Turkish border opened a short time ago, the Armenian News-NEWS.am correspondent reports from this checkpoint.

The Margara checkpoint has been opened so that humanitarian aid shipments to Syria could be transported there through Turkish territory.

We reported earlier that four trucks from an international cargo forwarding company had headed to Armenia’s Margara checkpoint on the Turkish border Friday morning, and from there they will head to Syria.

This humanitarian aid includes food, medicine, hygiene items, and some other essential items.

And as reported earlier, the Armenian government adopted a decision among its unreported matters in its Cabinet meeting Thursday, according to which it will make Armenia’s Margara checkpoint on the border with Turkey operational from March 21 to 31 in order to send humanitarian cargo to Syria through Turkish territory.
