We continue to study the situation related to the disruptions in the ArCa system. This was announced by Armen Nurbekyan, Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Armenia, at a press conference on Tuesday.

According to him, these disruptions were the result of an equipment malfunction. He reiterated that a study is being conducted to determine what needs to be done to avoid such a situation in the future. Nurbekyan said that representatives of the equipment manufacturer have been summoned to explain the situation.

“The Central Bank has set overseeing recommendations since 2022 and will be consistent in this direction. Some of these recommendations have been implemented, but there are domains in which we need to continue working with ArCa,” he noted.

According to him, non-cash transactions have increased significantly, and therefore the load on the relevant systems has also increased.

“Systems are failing all over the world. In this case, the problem was that this disruption was long-term, and everything must be done to make them more controllable," Nurbekyan said.

He noted that there is no information about cyberattacks, no such cases have been registered, and no data leaks have been recorded.
