“If we raise the matter of amending Azerbaijan’s constitution, it would contradict our own position,” Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan told a press briefing Thursday.
“We [i.e. Armenia] have stated our position regarding the constitution and have not announced any amendments; these positions have not changed. The solution is that, according to the already initialed text of the peace agreement [with Azerbaijan], that matter is de jure, fully, and comprehensively resolved.
As for the constitution, we have no topic of constitutional amendments in any direction of [our] foreign policy agenda. We have an internal agenda related to the constitution, and this is clearly noted in the declaration adopted at the 7th congress of the [ruling] Civil Contract faction,” the Armenian prime minister added.
