“The process is proceeding as normal. I recently also published some information about it following my visit to the United States. This year, we expect the first field uniform prototypes,” Defense Minister Suren Papikyan told reporters in the National Assembly of Armenia Monday—and referring to the army’s new uniform.

“It is about several thousand prototypes, which will later undergo military testing, field trials. After that, we will have the procurement process and a complete change of the army’s uniform,” the Armenian defense minister added.

Asked whether there is an agreement with the US regarding the signing of arms and ammunition contracts and, more broadly, military assistance for Armenia, Papikyan replied: “I cannot speak about any agreements, but I can say that there is quite a positive dynamic in the development of our cooperation. I will not say anything more.”
