It seems that one component of unblocking has already occurred. Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan on Wednesday told this to reporters at the National Assembly of Armenia.

“Right now, the cargo that has left Russia and Kazakhstan is passing through Azerbaijani railways, entering Georgia, then Armenia, has either entered Armenia’s border or is approaching Armenia’s border. Can we say that one component of unblocking has taken place? I think yes,” Mirzoyan added.

“Then there will be the next component, and then another. Then the framework within which the issues will be resolved, there will be a directly lining Armenia–Azerbaijan railway. Intensive discussions are ongoing. I cannot say when the first rail will be laid, and even less when the first [train] wagon will go. But I can say that, as a state, we are interested in this happening as soon as possible,” noted the Armenian FM.
