I assume that at some point there will also be visits by the American delegation. Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan on Wednesday told this to reporters at the National Assembly of Armenia—and in response to a question about whether visits by an American delegation are expected within the framework of the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) project to be implemented in Armenia.

“I don't know whether there is a specific formal need for a bilateral working group or not. If there is, it will be formed. There is a discussion. The scope of the ‘Trump Route’ can include various infrastructure,” Mirzoyan added.

Asked whether the aforesaid scope is already defined, the Armenian FM replied: “It is clear that there could be a railway, there could be a [natural] gas pipeline, an oil pipeline, power lines; all of these can be discussed.”

Regarding the mention in the TRIPP project that the consortium will also include a third party, and whether it is already known who the third party is, Mirzoyan responded: “By saying ‘third party’ in this context, we do not mean a country, a government. We mean that Armenia and the United States will establish a company that will have the rights for that construction. And probably, that also is not a fact—the construction will be delegated to some construction company. Maybe the train operation will be [handled by] the same company, or by another company. There will be tenders; that is, there will be a natural economic selection process with economic incentives. Let’s not view the matter as Armenia-America and a third party.”
