Heavy rains in the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais triggered floods that swept coffins away in the municipality of Ubá. Videos filmed by local residents captured the scene in the city on the night of Tuesday, February 24.
At least four people were killed in Ubá due to the heavy rains, which left a trail of destruction in the municipality of just over 100,000 residents.
In Juiz de Fora, another affected city, the death toll rose to 16. More than 400 people were left homeless. Municipal authorities declared a state of emergency.
