YEREVAN. – The Armenian Prosecutor General’s Office received a petition from Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan, the Prosecutor General’s assistant Sona Truzyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

The PM submitted a petition concerning the article, titled “Cyprus Troika: Who ‘Stripped’ Businessman Paylak Hayrapetyan of His Assets?”, which Hetq.am News Agency had run. Truzyan noted that the petition will be processed in accordance with the regulations.    

Separately, the PM’s spokesperson Harutyun Berberyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am that Sargsyan sent to the Prosecutor General a print copy of the aforesaid article that was publicized on May 29, and requested a study and an examination of the information in this article. At the same time, the PM informed that he has never registered a company in Cyprus, or in any other offshore country, and has never given anyone a power of attorney to register a company on his behalf.    

To note, Hetq.am had written that PM Tigran Sargsyan, Archbishop Navasard Kjoyan—the Vicar General of the Araratian Pontifical Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church—, and “jeweler” Ashot Sukiasyan are shareholders in an offshore company called Wlispera Holdings Limited, which is registered in Cyprus. In line with this article, the aforesaid company is directly linked with the property loss of businessman Paylak Hayrapetyan.
