YEREVAN. – Armenian PM Tigran Sargsyan, whose resignation has been announced earlier today, posted a short text on his Facebook page concerning his resignation.

“Back in February, I submitted to the President Serzh Sargsyan a request to accept my resignation. My decision is deliberated and meaningful,” Tigran Sargsyan wrote in his Facebook post. “We agreed to postpone the resignation due to the forthcoming important state events and RPA [Republican party of Armenia] economic forum. I thank all those people with whom I have worked, and first of all the president of the republic for the trust and the appointment to the high office of prime minister. I wish the new Government patriotic and effective work.”

Earlier today after a meeting of the Executive Body of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia, party’s spokesperson and Parliament deputy speaker announced the resignation of Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan.
