A Moscow district court on Friday commuted the restraining order for well-known and jailed Russian-Armenian businessman Levon Hayrapetyan to house arrest.

In its respective ruling, the court considered the fact that Hayrapetyan suffers from diabetes and cancer, and he had suffered two heart attacks.

The source notes that as a result, the court has in fact granted the investigator’s motion to commute Hayrapetyan’s restraining order.

Levon Hayrapetyan, 65, was detained in a Moscow airport on July 15 and subsequently arrested. On July 24, the Russian Federation Investigation Committee brought two criminal charges against him: embezzlement or misuse, and money laundering. Even though Hayrapetyan has health problems, he was kept in prison.
