Turkish Foreign Ministry spokesperson Tanju Bilgic stated that they do not consider Armenia’s withdrawal of the Armenian-Turkish protocols from the country’s parliament to be correct.

At a press conference, Bilgic also reflected on the Armenian president’s statement on recalling the protocols from the National Assembly, reported IHA news agency of Turkey.

The Turkey MFA spokesperson noted that the two protocols, which normalize Armenian-Turkish relations, also had a regional significance in terms of ensuring peace and stability in the Caucasus.

He stressed that they do not think this move by Armenia is correct, and claimed that this action showed Armenia’s “insincere and unstable position” with respect to these protocols, since the beginning.

“This can be considered Armenia’s new move to accuse Turkey,” Tanju Bilgic concluded.

As reported earlier, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan on Monday addressed with a letter to National Assembly (NA) Speaker Galust Sahakyan, and informed him that he has decided to recall the Armenian-Turkish protocols from the NA.
