YEREVAN. – Matters related to the construction of the new energy unit of the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant (ANPP) were discussed during Tuesday’s talk between the President Serzh Sargsyan of the Republic of Armenia (RA), and Chairman Adolf Birkhofer of the RA Presidential Nuclear Energy Safety Council (NESC).
Birkhofer is in Armenia to participate in the fourteenth regular session of the aforesaid council.
The Press Office of the President informed Armenian News-NEWS.am that Sargsyan and the NESC chief also reflected on the activities that were carried out to raise the safety level at the ANPP, and the measures that are envisioned along the lines of extending the lifetime of the second energy unit of the nuclear plant.
After the talk, Serzh Sargsyan and Adolf Birkhofer took part in the NESC session, during which the Armenian President delivered opening remarks.
